Boron is one of the unsung heroes of the periodic table.

Boron is a naturally occurring element. Trace amounts are found in soil, water, plants, animals, and people. However, the element boron does not exist by itself in nature. It combines with oxygen and other elements to form boric acid or inorganic salts commonly called “borates.”

Borates increase the durability, strength, and clarity of the display glass in hand-held devices.

Borates improve resistance to scratches and gives ceramic dishes their shine.

From headlights and motor oil to EV batteries and strengthening car frames, boron has multi-functional uses in the cars and trucks.

4. Wood homes

Borates help prevent moisture-induced decay and fungi such as wood rot. And, they protect wood products from pests such as termites, carpenter ants, and wood-boring beetles.

5. Electrical wires and cords

Borates are used in the coating surrounding wires and cords as a fire retardant and to lower electrical connectivity properties.
