U.S. Borax Inc. - Boron Operations
Primary mining and refining operation located in California's Mojave Desert

Pit measures a mile wide, one and one-half miles long and up to
700 feet deep

More than 80 different types of minerals found; four
main types of borates are tincal, kernite, ulexite and colemanite

Mine ore at a rate of about three million tons per year

Produce about one million tons of borax, boric acid
and anhydrous products per year

Produce 100 megawatts of electricity through
cogeneration, 85 of which are sold to a local utility.

Fleet of nearly 800 rail cars to transport borates to
North American customers and central shipping facility
the Port of Los Angeles.

Product storage capacity of more than 88,000 tons

Life of operation projected to last at least 75 years
