Olives are able to grow in poor soil and dry areas due to their genetic characteristics. However, to achieve high quality flowering and good production, sufficient boron is the key. Boron deficiency will have negative effects during more than one year because the new branches will be affected. When boron is applied, benefits include:
- Prevention of dieback, growing good new branches.
- Higher retention of flowers and fruits.
- Better root system development giving better resistance to drought
- Less deformed and corky fruits
- More regular production year by year
